U16s Girls | 7-2 | Johnstown | Well what can i say the best performance ever from our super girls team, impossible to name a player of the match...playing on a huge pitch in MDL , the girls went right to the final whistle in a powerfull performance after going down 1-0 halfway through first half, a superb run beating 3 players Abbey Hewitt stuck in in the net. The second half was ours after leading 2-1 and then 2-2 we blew Johnstown away with a powerfull performance , Abbey completed her hatrick with 2 more goals similar to her first, with the remaining goals from Lauren Ryan,Leanna Cairns, Sarah Jane Lyons and a first for the club for Rachel Fitzpatrick, but well done to Abbey for 3 superb individual goals, our vice captain Lauren Ryan(who was sick) Sarah jane Lyons and Grace for the towering performance, but a super performance by all. |

U16s Girls | 3-3 | Skryne | Well what can i say..Played full size pitch 11 a side...Poor first half indeed , very sloppy all round left us 3 goals behind against Skryne and a little pep talk and then a huge amount of team work and some great passages of play led to goals from Leanna,Abbey and a first goal for the club by Grace McGarvey . Brilliant come back girls, two very proud coaches... |

U13 | 8-3 | Corduff FC | Super Start to Summer Soccer! Balrath FC Under 9s continued where they left off as they kicked off the summer soccer season in some style with an 8-3 victory over a strong Corduff side. Both teams agreed beforehand that an extra player could be introduced if either team went 4 goals up and the new rule for goal kicks worked well. The three 20 min periods are great and mean that all players get more game time. The only downer was an early injury to Zaki which kept him out of the rest of the game but hopefully is not too serious. In truth the teams were more evenly matched than the score suggests and the main difference was a stunning performance from star striker Shane Smith with six goals and one assist. Unbelievable! Jesse and Ryan also opened their accounts for the summer as well as putting in a shift in goal along with Corey and Glen, who pulled off a fine save and was the only one to keep a clean sheet. Kyle was immense in midfield, put in a huge effort, made a couple of assists for Shane and was unlucky not to score from a free kick. Daniel and Corey were solid at the back and new recruit Alfie made a couple of good tackles and got plenty more game time under his belt. Another highlight of the day was the debut of Alex Carter who looks very strong and put in a performance full of effort, energy and enthusiasm. Well done Alex and all the team! |

U16 | 3-0 | Balbriggan | What a way to end a successful campaign with a great display in first half treacherous conditions. A smasing strike from Conor Soady opened the scoring followed by a great goal by Adam Norton. Balrath were always in control and the fact that yet another clean sheet was kept meant alot more than more goals, however Paraic Freeman raced into the box for the third with a smart finish. The gaffer pointed out the with in all the NDSL U 11 divisions , Balrath conceded the least amount of goals. Well done to all the players , Jeff and Willie and all the parents for all their support over the season. |

U13 | 2-1 | Loughshinny Utd FC | Balrath FC 2 - 1 Loughshinny Balrath FC kept their long standing undefeated home run going with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Loughshinny. Already missing Leona, who is on the Manchester trip, Balrath were rocked by news that star striker Shane was not feeling well enough to play. Balrath took the lead midway through the first half after a fine left footed strike from Corey Byrne and just before the break stand in striker Daniel battled his way past a couple of defenders and the goal keeper and tapped the ball into the net for his first goal of the season. Well done Daniel! In the second half Balrath were the better team and should have scored more, but the young girl in goal for Loughshinny was in fine form and made some great saves and one in particular from Shane, who made a brief appearance, but was not himself. Loughshinny got back into the game with a well struck penalty but Balrath hung on for the win. The home record now reads played 10, won 8, drew 2. With the semi-final against Skerries in two weeks probably being our last home game lets hope we can keep the run going! |
U16 | 2-2 | Rivervalley Rangers | A cracking cup game which ended 1-1 at full time and 2-2 after extra time with Balrath eventually losing 4-2 (6-4) on penalties. |

U16 | 5-0 | Balbriggan | The sun shone on Balraths Under 11s in more ways than oneon Saturday as they wrapped up the NDSL 11e league title with an emphatic win over Balbriggan.Wearing the white strip for the first timeBalrath would not be deniedvictory and made their intentions known from kick off with Adam coming close from the off. The 1st goal came from a super Sean Cassidy corner and a knock down by Jack fell to Daniel who scored a superb volley. The 2nd not long after came from Coxy who controled a kick out from Sean Knightly and beat 3 defenders befor cooly slotting home.Sean Knightky made it 3 early in the second half with a fantastice free kick. After that with the game in the bag, Balrath turned on the style and great passing. Darragh added number 4, through a fantasticc corner from Conor and a great diving header from Darragh.Jack Mahon made it 5 with a fantastick jinky run down the left and a superb finish. It was a great day for the team, and the parents to see this great passing game played. All at the club are very proud of the players and coaches of the Under 11s.Roll on the semi Finals which is next Saturday at 12.00 at knockharley. So keep your diarys free and please get up and support your fellow club member. |

U13 | 4-4 | Maynooth | Maynooth FC 4 - 4 Balrath FC Balrath Under 9s extended their unbeaten run to six but in the end they were lucky to escape with a draw in a game which they led 4-0 midway through the second half. The first half was very tight with Corey Byrne eventually giving Balrath the lead with a well struck left foot shot. Glen was unlucky not to get on the score sheet after a fine run. Jesse came out of goal for the second half and scored soon after before Shane struck his 50th and 51st of the season to make it 4-0 with little more than 10 minutes remaining. That should have been game over but to their credit Maynooth never gave up and stormed back into the game scoring four goals and crashing another fine strike off the bar. In the end it was a fair result and everyone went home happy. |
U16 | 6-0 | Stamullen | Jeff and Willies Under 11s back to their brilliant best against a resurgent Stamullen side. From the off Balraths passing game dominated affairs .Paraic opened the scoring smashing home from close range befor Darragh latched onto a spill by the excellent home keeper.Daniel made it 3 from the peno spot smashing the net. After the break Sean Knightlys supereb skills rounded the keeper to make it 4 and Darragh added a his second and Balraths fifth, befor Adam got the goal of the match witha fine solo run.The 3 lads at the back Patrick,Conor and Ciaran kept yet another clean sheet. |

U16 | 2-1 | Howth Celtic | A great win for Jeff and Willies Under 11s away to Howth Celtc in the quarter finals of the cup. A bumpy pitch and a very direct Howth Celtic side finally succumbed to the passing football of Balrath. After been 1 - 0 behind after halftime Balrath took the game by the scruff of the neck to draw level by a free kick by Sean Cassidy , after that we had some more chances but didnt finish and the game headed for extra time. The move of the match led to the winning goal which after a 3 to 4 pass move was blasted in the net by Sean Knightly. After a a few long balls by Howth had us all on the edge, but it was Balrath who had the best chance when a good shot by Abbey was well saved by the keeper . Balrath more than held on to be the only team from their league to make the semi finals. Well done to all. |

U13 | 5-4 | Malahide Utd. | Balrath FC 5 - 4 Malahide FC Balrath Under 9s passed their toughest test yet in the group stage of the league cup with a really hard fought win over Malahide. Ryan Connor was man of the match - running his heart out and scoring a terrific hat trick to take his tally for the season to 7. Jesse and Shane got a goal and and two assists each and put together some great passing moves along with Ryan, Zaki, Glen and Matthew. Daniel was his usual reliable self in defence but Balrath missed the ferocity and no-nonsense style of his usual partner Leona and had to ride their luck on a number of occasions. Lochlan made some important saves and his big kick outs always put pressure on Malahide. Overall a great team performance that makes it four wins out of four and keeps us top of the group with two tough away games to come! |
U16 | 1-1 | Howth Celtic | An unfortunatee draw for Jeff and Willies Under 11s at home to Howth Celtic. In a game were chances were few and fare between, Balrath started brighlty creating 2 great chances that went a begging.Howth soon found their rhythm yet never tested Paraic in goal,in fact i think he touched the ball once maybe twice in the first half goal.In the 2nd half it was Paraic playing on the right that forced the opener in off a Howth defender after brilliant work and cross from the right.Howth then uped their game and forced an equalisee via deflection passed Coxy.Howth failed to create many chanced whis is testament to our defence and balrtah had 2 clear chances to pick up all 3 points but didnt put them away.Howth again away in the cup next week.Full turnout on Thursday and we will be all looking forward to next Saturday. |

U16 | 1-2 | St. Itas | Jeff and Willies Under 11s suffered only their 2nd loss of the season. They didnt get out of the blocks quick enough and fell a goal behind, the firs half passed and Balrath had more purpose about them in the 2nd and a great strike from outside the box from Abbey leveled the match and for the next 10 minutes we had 3 to 4 clearcut chances to win it, but didnt take then and Itas broke in the last minute and scored the winner. The gaffer was not pleased about how the team has lost their passing rythem and cant wait for Thursday to put it right, but remain still tp of the league and cant wait for next Saturday. |
U11 | 6-2 | Laytown | --- |
U13 | 3-1 | Artane Boys | Balrath Under 9s made it 3 wins in a row in the cup and kept their long standing unbeaten home record in tact with a hard fought win over a good Artane side. Artane took the lead early in the first half but Balrath had plenty of chances and eventually equalised through substitute Kyle Doherty just before half time. After the break Balrath took the lead with a composed finish star striker Shane Smyth. Artane then had a couple of chances to equalise before Shane sealed the win with an unstoppable right foot volley into the bottom corner. The result leaves Balrath 3 points clear at the top of the group with 3 games to go. Well done to all the players! |

U16 | 1-0 | Dunboyne AFC | A great win for Jeff and Willies Under 11s in the cup against a higher league Dunboyne FC. A bright first half brought us in at 1-0 at the break. But Dunboyne got stronger 2nd half and we had again to dig deep to keep a clean sheet with some great defending and great goal keeping by Sean Cassidy , and at the last kick of the game it looked like a definite equalizer but somehow a full stretch Sean Cassidy tipped the ball around the post. Well done to all. |

U16 | 2-0 | Ayrfield Utd. FC | What a satisfying win Jeff and Willies under 11s had away to Ayrfield. WIth the small pitch this was never going to be a passing game, this was a game of hard work and defending from the front and after a ridiculous penalty decision against Balrath the Ayrfield player hit it well but high and the game stayed at 0-0 at half time. Second half was a great battling performance with a very well worked goal by Coxy followed by a smasher from Adam Norton gave us the 3 points that we deserved. Well done lads everyone of you should be proud of your performance. |
U13 | 7-0 | Malahide Utd. | Malahide AFC 0 - 7 Balrath FC Another great result for Balrath Under 9s as the beat Malahide 7-0 in their second cup game. Ryan Connor was the best player on the field in the 1st half, never stopped running and was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Balrath were 3-0 up at half time thanks to a fine individual goal from Corey Byrne, who was awarded player of the month before the game, and two typically classy finishes from Shane. Jesse made it four after the break before Kyle struck the goal of the game from 15 yards out. Leona was a rock in defence as usual aided by tough the tough tackling Matthew and. Daniel kept the clean sheet intact with some fine saves and shane came back on to grab another couple of goals before the end. Malahide, who had no subs, ran out of steam late on and the ref, having consulted the Balrath coach, blew the game up early just as Lochlan had broken through one on one for what would have been his first goal. Unlucky for him but a great team performance overall! |

U16 | 3-1 | Loughshinney | Jeff and Willies Under 11s had a top of the table clash with a very good Loghshinney side at Knockharley last Saturday. A really tough game for the lads as Loughshinney started strongly and but for excellent defending by Conor and Patrick, could have been a goal down with in the first 10 minutes. After that Balrath settled a bit and there hard work paid off, shortly after Coxy missed a glorious chance, he kept his head up and got his deserves with a very well taken goal for a 1 nil lead...He wasnt finished yet and after great work on the right he beat two Loughshinney players and crossed for Drragh Cantwell to finish sweetly for 2 nil to take into the break. 2nd half was great shift from the team, and although Loughshinney pulled one back through a very lucky goal , Balrath pushed for that all important third and creath chances we did one after another but through some great goal keeping from their keeper to some poor finishing by Balrath, we eventually got the third , and again Jack Mahon did brilliantly to turn on the ball hold the defender off and kill the game at 3 - 1. A solid display sent us clear at the top. |
U13 | 5-0 | Rush | Balrath FC 5 - 0 Rush FC A cracking start to the Cup competition for Balrath Under 9s with a 5-0 victory over Rush. Solid at the back with Lochlan and Zaki sharing the goalkeeping duties and Matthew, Daniel and Leona doing all the tackling. Corey, Glen and Ryan in particular were very impressive in midfield and never stopped working and tracking back. Corey opened the scoring with his first goal for Balrath which was well deserved. Jesse struck another hat trick to take his tally to 19 and Shane finished off a neat passing move for his 38th goal of an amazing season so far. Well done to all the players. |

U16 | 2-0 | Dunboyne FC | Another win for Jeff and Willies Under 11s. But a win is all it was. After a bright start were our usual passing game was evident and early solo goal by Coxy , followed by a neat finish from a corner by Abbey. After that Balrath lost their shape and composure and in late in the second half a good save by Darragh Cantwell stoped the last 5 minutes being uncomfortable against a dogged Dunboyne side. Patrick David found his composure in the last 5 minutes with some neat defending and passing from defence. Roll on next week. But a win is a win ,and another clean sheet . Well done lads. |
U13 | 3-5 | Skerries Town | Skerries Town 5 - 3 Balrath FC A terrific display from Balrath U9s, full of grit and determination could not prevent their first defeat in the league since early October but what a game it was. Balrath started well with captain on the day - Corey Byrne winning everything in midfield. Jesse opened the scoring in the 2nd minute after some neat passing with Shane and Zaki but Skerries came back strongly. Their No.10 was immense and gave Daniel and Leona a torid time. Glen had to make some great saves to keep the striker at bay before he deservedly got the equaliser before trading goals with Jesse to leave the game poised 2-2 at half time. Balrath started well again after the break and Jesse put Balrath back in front with a well struck shot to claim a hat-trick for a second week running. Depleted by sickness before the game, however, and without any subs Balrath ran out of steam mid way through the second half and struggled to contain skerries star man who smashed home two more goals. With the score 4-3 and 5 minutes to go Balrath through caution to the wind in search of an equaliser but got caught on the counter attack at the death. A cracking game and a great effort by all the players. Well done everyone! Keep it up for the cup games starting next week. |

U11 | 5-4 | Swords Manor | A great performance by Balrath Under 8s as they came out on top in a really tight contest against Swords Manor. Balrath raced into a two goal lead thanks to two nice finishes from star striker Robbie but Swords responded with two of their own to leave the scores level at half time. Jesse came out of goal for the second half and quickly regained the lead for Balrath after running onto a terrific long pass from Jake to poke home before Josh put Balrath two clear with a close range finish. Swords never gave up though and responded with two quick fire goals to leave the score 4-4. With only two minutes remaining Jesse made a run from deep and arrived in the box just in time to smash home another pass from Jake and snatch the victory. A great end to an exciting game. Well done to all the players! |

U13 | 3-0 | Lusk Utd. | Three wins in a row for Balrath Under 9s as they maintained their unbeaten home record and kept another clean sheet by beating Lusk Utd. 3 - 0. The two teams were very evenly matched and cancelled each other out in the first half which ended 0-0. Balrath came out strong after the break and, spurred on by the promise of McDonalds for 3 wins in a row, scored three second half goals with one from Zaki sandwiched between two strikes from Jesse. Well done to all the players for giving everything in a great team performance against a very physically strong Lusk team. |
U16 | 3-0 | Howth Celtic | In another epic u11s game Balrath clinched a great 3 0 win away too Howth Celtic.in a first half dominated by balraths slick passing moves Adam norton latched onto a Jack Mahon cross to open the scoring. Darragh Cantwell would force the second off an unlucky Howth man after a lovely move down the right with some great 1 2s from DC and Abbey hewitt which deserved a goal. However Balrath would not have it all their own way in the second as Howth started strong pressing at every opportunity. The defining moment of the game came from the Balrath keeper Sean Cassidy who pulled off a world class save pushing over a long range Howth effort. Moments later it would 3 as Sean released Jacko down the right and after skinning 2 men fired low into the net. All credit to the lads who showed great "fight" (Daniel Jordan) in the second half and yet another clean sheet for Conor and Patrick |

U13 | 6-0 | Swords Celtic | A great performance by the under 9s who kept their unbeaten home run going in some style with a comprehensive 6-0 victory against Swords Celtic. Our defenders and goal keepers were on top form and kept our first clean sheet of the season. Balrath talisman Shane Smith was at his best with 4 clinical finishes. Jesse got on the score sheet also but the goal of the day was scored by Zaki who smashed a right foot shot into the roof of the net after a fine run. Well done to all the players! |
U16 | 5-0 | Stamullen | Another good solid performance from Jeff and Willies Under 11s against a stubborn Stamullen side . The outstanding Stamullen keeper frustrated Balrath time and time again and a goal is what was needed to settle the game down and after about 15 minutes the breakthrough came through Adam Norton. Shortly after ,the move of the game yielded the second again through Adam Norton , a great interchange of Barcelona tiki taki passing on the left with Abbey,Daniel and Paraic led to a through ball to Adam who battled to win the ball and finish neatly. Second half was a similar affair, but Balrath got stronger and 2 goals by bags of tricks Jack Mahon and one from Darragh Cantwell capped a good win for our under 11s. It could have been more but for the brilliance of the Stamullen keeper.Well done all |

What a team display against a decent and physical St Itas side.Great early football led to two goals from attacking midfielders Sean Knightly and Abbey Hewitt, the Jack Mahon and Adam NJorton and Paraic Freeman made it 5 at half tome. The 2nd half was all about one girl, Abbey Hewitt pouncing on three spills by the keeper to bring her tally to 4 goals for the game. Goal followed by Coxy to complete the rout which began at the defensive players Patrick, Sean Cassidy and Conor. Fantastice football was played. |

U13 | 7-3 | Swords Celtic | Balrath Under 9s got their first away win of the season with an impressive victory over Swords Celtic. Swords took the lead in the first minute but Balrath worked really hard and got themselves back into the game with Shane stroking the ball home to leave the scores level at half time. After the break Balrath were relentless in their attacking play and eventually got their reward with a deflected shot from Zaki opening the flood gates! The next 10 mins were breathtaking with Shane scoring a clinical hat trick (his 3rd of the season), Jesse putting one in the top corner with his left foot and another from a corner via a hapless defender, Lochlann making the save of the match, and two breakaway goals from Swords. When the dust settled it was 7-3 to Balrath. A pulsating and entertaining performance full of energy and a well deserved result. Well done to all the players! |

U16 | 2-3 | Loughshinny Utd FC | An unfortunate first defeat in 5 for our u11s today away to Loughshinny. In a Windy first half our lads never got to show the fine passing football that they have now become famous for and trailed 1 0 at the break after a long range effort that looked destined to sail over held up in the wind only to drop over the keepers head. However it was not all doom and gloom with fine first half displays from Sean knightly carrying the ball forward well and Conor soady playing out of position in midfield. Second half our lads came out of the blocks flying but could not find that killer touch and some how managed to find ourselves 3 0 down after 2 soft goals from set pieces. But once again this team showed it character and found its rhythm led by a wonderful display from Ciaran "foxy" cox on the left combining well with Abbey They pulled 2 back trough foxy and Adam norton and had Loughshinny holding on at the end . Unfortunately it was too little too late. |
U13 | 3-3 | Artane Boys FC | Another three all draw with a second half comeback and a display full of team spirit from Balrath Under 9s who preserved their unbeaten home record. For the second home game in a row the players found themselves two goals down before turning things around in the second half but this time they left it late! Balrath were 2-0 down early in the first half before Shane Smith came on as a substitute and scored almost immediately. Artane then took a 3-1 lead but Balrath never gave up and battled really hard before Shane scored again with a deft finish for his 14th of the season with only six minutes remaining. A minute later Jesse ran clear of the Artane defence and slotted home the equaliser, to rapturous applause, before Shane went very close to winning it after a mazy run but his shot was saved. A terrific effort from each and every one of the players but this weeks man of the match has to go to Corey Byrne whose determination and drive in midfield was a inspiration to his team mates! |

U16 | 6-2 | Dunboyne FC | A great win and display by Jeff and Willies Under 11s against a gutsy Dunboyne side. A great first half by Balrath with their passing and movement evident for all to see had us 3 up at half time. Two more goal followed before Dunboyne re grouped and a super strike followed by a bit of a sloppy goal kept them in the match at 5 - 2 but Balrath got the 6th and seen the game out. 2 goals by the brilliant Darragh Cantwell one each for Adam Norton,Ciaran Cox ,Abbey Hewitt and for the life of me dont know the other scorer. To sum a great first half display followed by a bit more sloppy start to the 2nd half and the the final 10 minutes assured display for the win. Well done lads(and lassy) and Jeff and Willie |

U16 | 5-2 | Shamrock Celtic | A brilliant TEAM performance from Jeff and Willies Under 11s against an unbeaten Shamrock Celtic, played on a lovely pitch in Poppintree Park. Goals from Paraic Freeman (2) Ciaran Cox,Dylan Galckin and Conor Soady marked an all round brilliant team performance from the Under 11s. There were some great individual displays, but the team as a whole were fantastic, passing, tackling and helping each other out. The shape was kept well throughout and after going 2 nil up in first half , 2 needless goals pegged the game all square and it looked like the next goal would swing it and thankfully it fell to Balrath who built on that goal to score another 2 after that. It could have been more, but i know Jeff and Willie were pleased with the performance over the result. And well done to the parents who were superb on our silent sidelines week, sure what do we know? |
U13 | 3-3 | Clonee Utd | Silent sideline weekend produced a really enjoyable Match and a great display from Balrath FC who came back from 2-0 down at half time to draw 3-3. Both sets of supporters embraced the silence and even the coaches kept a lid on it and just let the kids play. It was brilliant to watch all the players talk to each other and organise themselves without conflicting instructions being shouted from parents and coaches. Trailing by two goals Balrath came out fighting in the second half and some strong running and crisp passing from Shane and Kyle produced a goal for each of them to level the game. Clonee responded immediately to make it 3-2 but Balrath had saved the best till last with Shane putting the finishing touch to a really impressive passing move. A fair result, proud parents and coaches, happy kids and a fantastic day all round. Silence really is golden! Congratulations to all the players! |
U11 | 7-4 | Ashbourne | Well done to all the boys for coming out all played well and great goals from Robbie jake josh and Jessie but over all a great performance by all the boys.. |

U16 | 2-1 | Kinsealy Boys | Great first home game for Jeff and Willies U 11 against 11B team Kinsealy Boys . An early peno for Kinsealy gave them the lead until early in 2nd half when Darragh Cantwell was fouled outside the box which led to Paraic Freemans great free kick in towards goal which was headed in by Abbey Hewitt. 10 minutes from the end the breakthrough finally came, when great work on the right by Conor Soady winning a crunching tackle on the right and when the ball bounced in front of him he had one thing on his mind, shot and shoot he did beating a very impressive Kinsealy Boys keeper with a blatser of a shot. Well done U11s |
U13 | 1-9 | St. Francis M/V | Not a great result but some very promising performances against a very strong and physically superior St. Francis team. We never gave up and kept fighting till the end. Our new player Corey Byrne was terrific in midfield and Glen made some fantastic saves . A great goal by Shane and we were very unlucky not to have scored another 3 or 4 ourselves. Well done to the players and roll on next week! |

U16 | 2-0 | Navan Road Utd | Jeff and Willies Under 11s had a great tussle with a very good Navan Road Utd and deserved their 2 - 0 scoreline. A great passing game was played by Balrath from the defence out and there always improvements but this game was always about Balraths passing. Darragh Cantwell opened the scoring following in well from a great save by the home keeper, smashing it into the rood of the net. And a first goal for the Club by Dylan Glackin all be it a deflection from a fine Pariac Freeman shot, but he was was in the right place at the right time. Some fine individual performances but this was a great all round team performance that delighted the Balrath managment.Go Balrath |
